Participation in the 16th Congress on Dry Stone Walling
07 Nov 2018
The project coordinator participated in the 16th Congress of the "International Scientific Society for Drystone interdisciplinary study", which is held every two years, and for 2018 took place in Ciutadella, Menorca, Spain, from 26 to 28 October. She presented the LIFE TERRACESCAPE project (title: The Project LIFE TERRACESCAPE: Employing land stewardship to transform terraced landscapes into green infrastructures to better adapt to climate change) as an important tool for future preservation of dry-stone buildings and terraces for agriculture. By coincidence, during the same days, the inclusion of the art of dry-stone walling was announced by UNESCO to have been included in the International List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
